Poker Software

Not all that bad
Not all poker software is deemed illegal or frowned upon by the broader poker community. Some poker software, outside of the room software providing your games, is designed to help an individual to improve his or her expertise at the game. There is a variety of different poker software available, but the fact is that it all provides players with an edge to improve their game.
Poker simulators
This software ranges from odd calculators, statistics and odds analyzers, poker trackers and simulators. Different types of simulators enable an individual to play against a computerized system and during the game; the simulator gives the players clues as to the possible moves that can be made by the opponents. However, no computer system can really act as the real person would and their purpose is mainly to give players an insight into the game. Real people are somewhat unpredictable at times. Examples of simulators include Wilson Software Poker, DD Tournament Poker and Poker Academy. Some of these simulators even advice the player on exactly which moves they should attempt and which ones not to attempt in the course of the game.
Odds calculators
Odd calculators are perhaps the most commonly used poker software. This software informs the player of their relative odds at a hand and even go as far as giving suggestion as to the moves that other opponents may make based on the way the game is moving and the board. The good thing about odd calculators is that they are real-time based. Therefore, a player who combines his own skills of wits and the quick mathematical assistance of the software is very likely to be at a comparative advantage as compared to other players. Some odd calculator software, such as PokerOffice 5.0 contains a lot of extra features and even have a facility that allows the player to view re-plays. This may be to learn more from where they made a wrong move or to show others their winning moves. Probably, however, the best thing about this software is that players can use them in a real-time game in collecting information from the website itself while playing a game.
Statistics and odds analyzers
Statistics and odds analyzers on the other hand gather information from previously played games and offer advice on what changes could be made to better one’s game. They collect information over a period of time and are very useful in that they often give information which one would never even had thought about. Poker trackers were initially designed as simulators but later on came to be used in real-time games. The trackers collect information and store it for future reference. It can gather the moves of players for many games and give almost accurate results as to the likely outcome of the moves they would make under certain situations. Examples of poker trackers include Shark Mate, Poker Tracker 3 and Poker-Edge.
This software provides statistical accuracy and helps players process information and make smart moves much faster. Others such as Shark Mate even go around table hopping to find the weakest table enabling the player to gain advantage by playing at a table with weaker players. Poker trackers and odd calculators somehow serve the same purpose and in recent times, people have argued that they are one and the same. However, they do have their own distinct differences.
